DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR ABSTRACTS
  FEBRUARY 22, 2012




THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE WILL CREATE AN ELECTRONIC PROCEEDINGS BOOK WITH ABSTRACTS AND ANOTHER ONE WITH THE FULL TEXT OF THE PRESENTATIONS SUBMITTED TO THE CONGRESS

BOTH OF THEM WILL HAVE AN ISBN NUMBER



IMPORTANT: FOR A PAPER TO ENTER THE REVISION PROCESS, AT LEAST ONE OF THE AUTHORS MUST BE REGISTERED IN THE CONGRESS BEFORE THE PAPER PROPOSAL IS SUBMITED.


For ORAL PRESENTATIONS, WRITTEN PRESENTATIONS, CLINICAL CASES,  CLINICAL SESSIONS, SYMPOSIUMS OR ROUND TABLES, proposals to be considered, an abstract using APA style must be submitted using the forms attached at the end of this web page. To present any proposal, a symmary must include the following information. The summary can not exceed 300 words
:

- Introduction, objectives, methods, results and discussion.

When the papers are not strictly research papers, the methodology that has been followed must be specifyed.

The presentations may be conducted in any of the official languages of the Congress (Spanish, English and Portuguese)

The scientific committee and the organizational comitee reserve their right to decide the final format (oral or writen) of any submission. They will timely inform the participants about the acceptance or rejection of the proposals made, once the submission deadline is over.


The closing date for sending abstracts is the 10th FEBRUARY, 2012, and the minimum length for the abstracts is 250 words and the maximum length is 300 words.

In this edition of the Congress, a Congress Abstract Report will be published, together with another book that will include all the papers that the authors want to publish, in a chapter format (maximum 5 pages). Below are the norms for the abstract format (deadline February 10)

Below are the norms for the chapter format (deadline May  30):

IMPORTANT: at least one of the authors must be registered in the Congress before sending the proposal (in case of a rejection, the author may request a refund of a 100% of the registration payment). Papers writen by authors who are not registered in the Congress will not even be reviewed.


* Each of the registered authors can send a maximum of three papers, but his/her name cannot appear in more than five.
* The presentation can only be done by one of the authors who is registered in the Congress.
* The number of certificates given per comunicaton, will be the same as the number of authors registered for that paper.  In each certificate the name and surname of all the authors will be shown.





All proposals will be presented using one of the following formats:

Oral Communication

  • The time allowed for each oral communication is 15-20 minutes. The Scientific Commitee will include each of the abstract accepted for otral presentation into one of the symposium in accordance with its theme.


Written Communication

  • Each poster will be exhibited for 2 hours in an designated place, period in which the authors will have time to explain their work to those who are interested. The Sicentific Commitee will assigned each of the posters accepted into one of the posters sessions in accordance with its theme.

          The size of the poster must be 90x120cm (vertical format)


Clinical Cases
  • Individual proposals for clinical cases can be sent, either to be presented orally or in a written format. The Scientific Committee will group them according to the topic. All summaries of clinical cases must include the following information to be expanded during the presentation:
-Patient's characteristics (no name)      
-Reason for seeking help    
-History of the problem
-Description of the problematic behavior
-Stablished goals and treatment
-Terapeutic objectives
-Choosing the appropiate treatment
-Choosing and applying evaluation techniques and results obained in this phase
-Aplication of the treatment
-Evaluating the treatment's eficacy
-Follow up: how and when it was done
-Observations

Clinical Session
Symposium

Round Table

  • It will be composed of three to four experts that will discuss about one theme from different perspectives. It will last 45-60 minutes, after which a colloquium will be  followed for other 30-45 minutes in which the audience can take part.
